One of Spain's most elegant fairs (Feria de Andalucía's second largest after Seville). Andalusian horses (Pura Raza Española—Pure Spanish Horse, commonly but incorrectly called "Andalusian") in parades (paseo de caballos) through fairground (González Hontoria Park). Day fair (11am-4pm): women in flamenco dresses, men in short jackets and riding boots, horse-drawn carriages (coches de caballos) parade, horse competitions (dressage, carriage driving, equestrian dancing—"Doma Vaquera" Spanish cowboy style). Night fair (9pm-6am): casetas (tents) with rebujito (sherry and Sprite), sevillanas dancing, live music (rumbas, bulerías flamencas). Midnight nightly fireworks (castillo de fuegos artificiales) over fairground lake. Unique to Jerez : horses wear traditional "rappers" (embroidered saddle cloths) and "serretas" (decorative head collars).
