Unique festival celebrating pimentón de la Vera (smoked paprika—DOP Pimentón de la Vera, produced only in La Vera comarca). Key events: "Molienda" (grinding) of dried peppers at restored 19th-century water mill; "Descorche" (cork popping) of new paprika season; "Ruta de la Tapa" (tapas route) with paprika-themed dishes (patatas a la importancia, migas extremeñas with paprika); "Concurso de Tortilla de Patatas" (potato omelette competition with paprika variations). Paprika production: peppers (Ñora variety) dried over slow-burning oak smoke for 10-15 days before grinding, unique to La Vera since 16th century
