Madrid's main Christmas market, located in historic Plaza Mayor since 1826 (though markets on this site since 17th century). 100+ stalls selling: Figuras de Belén (nativity scene figurines—Madrid's nativity tradition features "castizo" style with Madrid regional costume figurines—chulapas with carnations, chulapos with flat caps); Bolas de Navidad (glass Christmas balls); Ramos de Navidad (Christmas wreaths—ramo de Navidad is specific Spanish style with half-circle shape, not round American style); Luces de Navidad (lights—but these are sold for home decoration, not the city lights). Also: Cabalgata de Reyes (Three Kings Parade) preparation area—the actual parade is January 5, but market has stall selling dulces de Navidad (turrón, polvorones, mazapan)
