First of three consecutive Spanish eclipses (next: August 2, 2027, then 2028). Totality occurs just before sunset; last total solar eclipse in Iberian Peninsula since 1912. Prime viewing: Segovia aqueduct region, Burgos cathedral area, Soria's Numantian plains, La Rioja vineyards, Navarra's Pyrenean foothills, Zaragoza's Ebro valley. Segovia ideal due to inland location and typically clear August skies . Eclipse tours available with hotels + viewing locations. Eclipse glasses required—will sell out months in advance. DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT SUN without certified eclipse glasses
